This Oldways Crete Culinary Tour package includes:

• A trip for two (2) on the Oldways Crete Culinary Tour, beginning in Heraklion and traveling to Chania, the two major cities of Crete, Greece. 

This trip starts on Sunday, October 21, 2018 and ends on Sunday, October 28, 2018.

Your Crete culinary trip will include:

• 7 nights on the fabulous island of Crete
• A cooking class in Heraklion with James Beard award-winning chef Ana Sortun
• A guided tour of Knossos and its spectacular palace
• Visits to producers of honey, cheese, wine, and olive oil, with tastings

• Visits to small villages, meeting producers of artisanal products
• Cooking demonstrations in both Heraklion and Chania by Greek chefs, with chef Ana Sortun and cookbook author Aglaia Kremezi assisting

Join Oldways, James Beard award-winning chef Ana Sortun, and award-winning cookbook author and cooking teacher Aglaia Kremezi in Crete! Experience firsthand why Crete is known for its rich history and heritage, its splendid cuisine that is the foundation of the Mediterranean Diet, and its strikingly beautiful landscape.

You'll be based in the two major cities of Crete—Heraklion and Chania—both wonderful and very different. You'll venture into the mountains and visit small villages, monasteries, organic farms, wineries, and pottery workshops, as well as producers of cheese, honey, and olive oil. You will have a guided tour of the world-class archaeological site of Knossos, which was the capital of the powerful Minoan civilization almost 4,000 years ago. And, of course, you'll have wonderful cooking demonstrations by Ana, Aglaia, and a few of Aglaia's favorite Cretan chefs. 

*This week-long tour includes: Most meals (all breakfasts, all lunches except one, and four dinners out of seven are included as part of the program), hotel accommodations for 7 nights, and tour activities.

*Participants meet in Heraklion to start the trip on Sunday, October 21, 2018. Participants make their own arrangements for airfare (fly into Heraklion and out of Chania, OR in and out of Heraklion) and transportation to/from the airport.
