Like the idea of taking the reins yourself? Love your independence but don't want to be totally on your own? A B&R self-guided trip is just the ticket. They combine the hallmarks of any B&R itinerary (like excellent hotels and award-winning routes) with the freedom of pacing each day exactly the way you like. And while we're talking about awards, this seems like a good time to tell you that B&R won Travel & Leisure's World's Best Tour Operator in 2015, and has been in the top ten, well, a lot.

Back to the trip, where you'll be scrolling through Tuscan splendor. B&R arranges some can't miss meals and events, the transferring of your bags and they'll equip you with all the information you'll need to craft the trip you desire. A morning browsing the shops, or an extra trail loop; take-away pizza or a gourmet lunch; a walking tour of historic Cortona or relaxing in a piazza—the choices are yours on this Tuscany walking tour.

With lush, rolling hills, medieval towns and meandering roads keeping it all together, Tuscany is a walker's idyll. There is something eminently peaceful in walking through hilltop towns that have stood watch here since the Middle Ages, passing vines tended by generations of winemakers, and savoring traditional cuisine made from the freshest and tastiest local ingredients. This is the region you imagine when you think of Italy; home to olive groves and cypress trees, Roman battlefields, Renaissance churches and charming villages—from tiny Montefollonico to lordly Montepulciano.

*Participants meet at the Terontola Train Station in Rome, Italy to start the trip on their choice of date and end at Chiusi Train Station in Siena, Italy. Participants make their own arrangements for train/airfare transportation to/from the airport.

*This experience activity level is for the enthusiasts. Guests will mostly walk on gently rolling terrain, although there is the occasional steep climb or descent to take on. As the terrain can be rocky, footwear with good ankle support is essential. Average walk per day is 10-13 km.
