JIMMY AND ROSALYNN CARTER WORK PROJECT WITH HABITAT FOR HUMANITY
  • Auction image 1

Be part of the 2019 Carter Work Project, October 6-11, 2019, and join President and Mrs. Carter and hundreds of other volunteers to build more than 20 homes in Nashville.

After more than 35 years, the donation of time and talent by former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and his wife, Rosalynn, continues to inspire and multiply the influence of Habitat for Humanity around the world. Their participation in Habitat's work raises awareness of the critical need for affordable housing - the heart of Habitat for Humanity's mission.

Habitat for Humanity's Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project has drawn more than 100,000 enthusiastic volunteers since 1984. These volunteers have built, renovated and repaired more than 4,200 homes on 35 projects in 14 countries to improve access to affordable housing. The 2019 Carter Work Project continues the tradition and will be hosted by Habitat for Humanity of Greater Nashville.

Future homeowners will work alongside President and Mrs. Carter and hundreds of other volunteers to build 20 new single-family homes during the Carter Work Project week. Additionally, twelve other new single-family homes and 26 new townhomes will be constructed by 2021 with the support of funds raised for the project.

About Habitat for Humanity

Driven by the vision that everyone needs a decent place to live, Habitat for Humanity began in 1976 as a grassroots effort on a community farm in southern Georgia. The Christian housing organization has since grown to become a leading global nonprofit working in local communities across all 50 states in the U.S., and in more than 70 countries. Families and individuals in need of a hand up partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. Through financial support, volunteering or adding a voice to support affordable housing, everyone can help families achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves. Through shelter, we empower. To learn more, visit habitat.org.
