This Oldways Insider's Italian Adventure package includes:
- A trip for (2) on the Oldways Insider's Italian Culinary Adventure with Whole Foods Market cheese buyer, Cathy Strange, beginning in Lombardy (Milan) traveling to Emilia Romagna (Parma, Modena, Bologna), and ending in Piedmont (Turin), Italy
This trip starts on Sunday, May 13, 2018 and ends on Sunday, May 20, 2018.
Your cheese and wine exploration Italy trip will include:
- Visits to farms and dairies to experience the making of traditional cheeses in the northern Italian regions of Lombardy (Milan), Emilia Romagna (Parma), and Piedmont (Turin)
- Visits to prosciutto and vinegar producers in Emilia Romagna
- Guided visits of historic and cultural highlights in Parma, Milan, and Bologna
- Vineyard tours and wine tastings in Piedmont—a region celebrated for its wines
- Visits to classic markets
- A hands-on cooking class in Parma
- Hotels in Milan (Glam Hotel), Parma (Grand Hotel de la Ville), and Turin (Turin Palace Hotel)
- *Amazing meals featuring the traditional ingredients and foods of northern Italy—from neighborhood trattorias, country inns and castles, to classic city restaurants
Join Oldways and renowned cheese and specialty food expert Cathy Strange for a week-long culinary extravaganza in Northern Italy! You'll meet in Milan on May 13, 2018 and enjoy the city's great restaurant scene, as well as daytime visits to artisan cheese producers.
Next, you'll be based in historic Parma for several days in order to visit producers of Parmigiano-Reggiano and Prosciutto di Parma, and to experience a hands-on cooking class (everyone cooks!).
You'll then head to Turin and the Piedmont region to complete your week with visits to the region's world-famous producers of wine and cheese—but not before you visit Modena to taste and learn about Aceto Balsamico Tradizionale, and also Bologna to experience this fabulous food-focused city and Italy's oldest bar.
*This week-long tour includes: Most meals (all breakfasts, all lunches except one, and four dinners out of seven are included as part of the program), hotel accommodations for 7 nights, and tour activities.
