This Habitat for Humanity package includes:
Delta employees will travel to Vancouver, Canada, this June to build eight new homes in partnership with Habitat for Humanity. As a SkyMiles member, you are invited to bid on this trip for you and a guest to participate, along with 54 Delta employees from around the world, two Delta retirees and 12 employees from Delta's partner carrier, WestJet.
You and your guest will join Delta's Global Build team in Vancouver, Canada, from June 6-14, 2020. The trip includes 10 days: two days for travel, five days dedicated to Habitat construction and the remaining days filled with cultural experiences in Vancouver. Prior to the event, participants will attend an orientation at the Delta Flight Museum, located at Delta's World Headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, on May 13.
This trip will mark the 17th Delta Global Build with Habitat for Humanity and the 14th country in which Delta will have built. The time you spend building will be supplemented with opportunities to learn more about Habitat and the local community. We will be working on eight homes in Mission, a small community approximately 67 kilometers (42 miles) southeast of Vancouver. Daily activities at the build site will be physical, so you must be in general good health, though no prior construction skills are necessary. The project will also include the opportunity to experience tours, shopping and cultural events in the Vancouver area, including a whale watching adventure.
*Things To Know Before You Bid:

Delta Customers are eligible to participate in only one (1) Delta Global Build each, so the winning bidder would not be able to participate in a future Delta Global Build.
After the bidding has ended, the potential successful bidder will be contacted by a Delta representative for a screening conversation to discuss the project and ensure that all parties involved understand the purpose and nature of the trip. Topics of conversation may include, but are not limited to: International travel experience in developing countries, Familiarity and/or work with Habitat for Humanity, Reasons for wanting to participate, Comfort with group travel and adhering to a pre-determined itinerary, Awareness that Delta and WestJet employees are part of the team and that media and press will likely be included in this experience.
Following the screening process, Delta may determine, in its sole discretion, to award the trip to an alternate bidder. Under such circumstances, any miles bid will be refunded to the account of the bidder whose bid is declined. Upon Delta's acceptance of the winner and companion, the winning bidder will be asked to promptly complete the participant applications for the trip. The application will include a release in favor of Delta and Habitat for Humanity as a condition to participating. If Delta chooses to disallow the winning bidder and companion from participating in the trip, his or her miles will be fully refunded and the next highest bidder will be contacted. Miles may only be refunded at Delta's discretion after the screening conversation has been completed.

About Habitat for Humanity
Driven by the vision that everyone needs a decent place to live, Habitat for Humanity began in 1976 as a grassroots effort on a community farm in southern Georgia. The Christian housing organization has since grown to become a leading global nonprofit working in local communities across all 50 states in the U.S. and in more than 70 countries. Families and individuals in need of a hand up partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. Through financial support, volunteering or adding a voice to support affordable housing, everyone can help families achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves. Through shelter, we empower. To learn more, visit habitat.org.
